Gone are the carefree days of jumping in your car and running to the grocery store "real quick" to grab some pasta. Going to the store now involves gloves, masks, different store hours, lines to ensure too many people arent in any one place at any one time, tape on the floor in 6 foot increments... the list goes on and on. But in short.. WE ARE LIVING IN A NEW REALITY. This new reality is scary. We are words and phrases we have never heard before like "social distancing" but they are quickly becoming the new normal for us.
Who would have thought just a few months ago, Christmas time, that we would be away from our loved ones for months just to make sure we don't hurt ourselves or others? No one could have predicted this but yet here we are.. Making the best of things. People are developing new ways of communication and "contact" that no one thought possible. Parades for birthdays, teddy bears and pictures in windows to keep children occupied, ZOOM meetings, etc etc etc. Our instinctual creativity is coming out and its beautiful to watch.
We, as a world, will make it out of this as a better human race. The proof is all around you if you just take a minute to tune out the scariness and tune in the beauty. We are in this #ALONE TOGETHER
TIPS FOR SPRING CLEANING YOUR LIFE
Spring is in the air!
Its starting to warm up and before we know it? BAM! Its Christmas! Ok sorry let me back up. No one wants to think about Christmas right now.. I get it. What I have been thinking about lately is doing some spring cleaning in all areas of life. So here are the top 5 tips to put a little SPRING in your step this year! (See what I did there?) ;)
NUMBER 1 - Get that air conditioner serviced and ready to go. There is absolutely nothing worse than your air conditioner breaking when its 100 degrees outside in July. It has happened to me more than once (I know, I'm a slow learner) and it was NOT fun. Be prepared this year and have it waiting for the flip of the switch.
NUMBER 2 - Review your finances. Most of us are just starting to recover from Christmas (literally took the outside lights down yesterday) so its time to regroup. You should review subscriptions you may not be using, that gym membership you used once (not me.. you), your benefits at work, your life insurance situation (being prepared is always a positive). Get rid of the frivolous wastes of money and focus on the important things. Oh and start putting some away so your ready for that holiday at the end of the year we have agreed not to say anymore.
NUMBER 3 - Actual spring cleaning. Its time to declutter and organize! Studies have shown the less clutter the happier the human. If you haven't worn those pants in a year - donate them. Those Tupperware containers you call terrible names everyday when you cant find the lids? - TOSS THEM. You get the picture - get rid of some stuff so you can get more stuff.
NUMBER 4 - Clean up those broken relationships! It takes so much more energy to be upset and hold anger. Let it go. Be the bigger person and just let it go. Even if the other person is not ready to fix things, release that anger in your heart. I will give a 1000% guarantee you will feel lighter immediately. Love conquers all y'all!
NUMBER 5 - Last and certainly not least...WORK ON YOU! Explore that hobby you have been researching lately, if your bored at your job - find a side gig - something you actually enjoy that can also bring in some extra cash. Take time everyday to focus on yourself and your productivity will skyrocket.
